About

Midi Lidi are an electropop band from Brno, Czech Republic, formed in 2006 from the remnants of the ensemble Krásný Stěhovák Gerard & Sexuální nábytek. The current lineup - Petr Marek, Prokop Holoubek, Tomáš Kelar and Magdalena Hrubá - spans film, theatre and visual art alongside music. They have released six studio albums and composed soundtracks for director Marek Najbrt's films Protector, Polski film and Prezident Blaník, winning the Czech Lion Award for Best Music for Protector. Their Czech-language lyrics, danceable electronic production with echoes of 1980s acts like New Order, and a streak of subversive humour have made them a fixture of the Czech alternative scene.
