The Violets are a Czech rock band from Hostivice, formed in 2020 by a group of friends from the same street - Fialová (Violet Street), which also gave the band its name. Songwriting is driven by the guitar-and-vocals duo Milan Mathauser and Petr Libý, with a sound that moves between rock and pop and occasionally touches on heavier metal elements. Despite their short history, the band has built a loyal live following and in 2025 relaunched with a new lineup and reworked arrangements.
The Violets performed at the In vino Hostivice 2025 festival (June 20) alongside Marie Rottrová and Kateřina Marie Tiché.
The band performed for the first time at the Prague club Vagon (April 2, 2025) and simultaneously presented itself in a new lineup with reworked arrangements.
The Violets announced a transition to professionally prepared arrangements and a new rhythm section - Honza took over drums, Dan took over bass.
The band performed at the Hostivice 2023 Municipal Beer Festival on the main stage in the square alongside stars of the Czech music scene.
