Satarial is a Moscow-born metal band built around the duo of Lord Seth (Andrey Shmelev) and Angelika. Founded in 1989 as A.M.S.G., the project renamed itself Satarial in 1993 as its sound evolved from raw black metal toward folk-industrial metal rooted in pagan and shamanic imagery. Openly critical of the Putin government, the band was banned from performing in Russia and emigrated to Poland in September 2021, now based in the Lower Silesian region.
In September 2021, Satarial emigrated to Poland and settled in the Lower Silesia region after receiving a performance ban in Russia and repeated death threats.
Russian authorities imposed fines on the group and eventually banned them from performing in the country due to open criticism of Putin's government.
The group released the album Lunar Cross, recorded live without computer technology, in the tradition of an old-school approach.
