Purnama are a Czech death/black metal band from Turnov and Liberec, active since 2011. Their debut Lioness (2017) established them on the domestic scene, while the follow-up Flame of Rebellion (2020) - mixed by King Diamond guitarist Andy LaRocque at Sonic Train Studios in Sweden - came out on MetalGate Records. The band also runs the Metal for Hope charity project, donating proceeds to children with cancer.
Purnama will perform on October 11, 2025 at the Gates of Void festival in the Ostrava club Barrák alongside bands Fatality, Vanguard and others.
Purnama won the sixth edition of the Spark Fresh Blood talent competition of Spark magazine in January 2020, to which over 500 bands applied.
The album Flame of Rebellion was released on January 22, 2020 under the MetalGate label; the band conducted a tour in its support with more than forty concerts in the Czech Republic and abroad.
Upon the release of the debut album Lioness, Purnama donated the proceeds from the sale of the first 100 CDs to the Šance onkoláčkům Charitable Foundation - a total of 27,300 CZK.
