Pulp Fiction is a 1994 American crime film written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. Its interlocking stories of Los Angeles hitmen, a boxer and a gangster's wife won Tarantino the Palme d'Or at Cannes and an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay, cementing the film's place as one of the defining works of 1990s cinema. The cast includes John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson and Uma Thurman. In 2013 the Library of Congress selected it for preservation in the National Film Registry.
