Pink Floyd are a British rock band formed in London in 1965, widely credited with shaping progressive and psychedelic rock. Albums such as The Dark Side of the Moon (1973) and The Wall (1979) rank among the best-selling records in music history, with total equivalent album sales exceeding 250 million. The band is known for its philosophical lyrics and elaborate live productions.
