Phoenix Maria is an Austrian musician, yogi and singing-circle facilitator from Salzburg who has spent decades travelling Europe as a wandering bard. For over 27 years he has led singing circles with guitar and flute, drawing on Indian bhakti devotional chant and 1960s folk. The international peace movement Rainbow Family of Living Light shaped his shift from concert performance to participative, collective singing. He is the founder of the Kreiskultur project; in 2025 he toured Ukraine and has spent four consecutive winters teaching music to refugees on the Greek island of Lesbos.
