About

Petr Vok of Rosenberg (1539-1611) was the last male member of the Rosenberg dynasty, one of the most powerful noble houses in Bohemia. A leading Protestant among the pre-Battle of White Mountain estates, he was equally renowned as a patron of the arts and an avid collector of books, paintings, and curiosities. He spent his final years in Třeboň, where in 1608 he established a house serving as library, picture gallery, and Kunstkammer. His death without an heir in 1611 ended the Rosenberg line.
