A summer festival under the chestnut trees featuring music and entertainment at the amphitheatre in Nový Jičín.
Petr Brandejs (born 1969, Náchod) is a Czech banjo player and guitarist, one of the most prominent figures in Czech bluegrass. He led Petr Brandejs Band from 1995 to 2010, winning the best-band award at the pan-European EWOB festival in the Netherlands in 2001. Three times voted Banjo Player of the Year in the Czech Republic, he has recorded over ten albums, written three banjo instruction books, and run more than fifty workshops at home and abroad since 1995. The band has since been revived with a new lineup.
The 29th bluegrass workshop in Malé Svatoňovice (October 25-28, 2024) sold out before the public offer.
Brandejs together with Ondrej Kozak received an IBMA grant for an educational program introducing bluegrass instruments in kindergartens.
The renewed Petr Brandejs Band lineup returned to the stage with a selection from the entire seven-album discography.
Brandejs is a certified teacher of the Wernicke method and since 1995 has organized over fifty workshops in Norway, Slovenia, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic.
