Oksana Zabužko is a Ukrainian novelist, poet and philosopher, widely regarded as one of the most important voices in contemporary Ukrainian literature. Her 1996 novel Field Work in Ukrainian Sex sparked a major cultural debate and became a landmark of post-Soviet Ukrainian writing. Her later novel The Museum of Abandoned Secrets is an expansive generational fresco linking personal memory with suppressed 20th-century history.
