Niakara is a Czech metal band founded in 2023 by bassist Zdeněk Kub after his departure from Arakain, where he spent over 35 years. The band performs his original compositions - songs that rarely or never made it onto Arakain's setlists - alongside new material. The lineup features vocalist Mayo Petranin, guitarists Petr Voháňka and Martin Pavlíček, and drummer Pavel Kubát (ex-Root). Thematically, the band draws on ancient mythology: the debut EP Anunnaki (2024) is rooted in Sumerian lore, while the follow-up EP Anubis (2025) turns to ancient Egypt.
