Napalm Death is a British extreme metal band from Birmingham, widely regarded as pioneers of grindcore. Formed in the mid-1980s out of the hardcore punk scene, they blend ferocious speed with politically charged lyrics. Their debut album Scum (1987) is considered a landmark record of the genre.
