About

Dismember are a Swedish death metal band from Stockholm, formed in 1988 by Robert Sennebäck, David Blomqvist and Fred Estby. They are one of the originators of the Swedish death metal sound - built around the "chainsaw" guitar tone of the Boss HM-2 pedal and Tomas Skogsberg's Sunlight Studios - and are widely regarded as part of the genre's Swedish "big four" alongside Entombed, Grave and Unleashed. Their 1991 debut Like an Ever Flowing Stream remains a landmark of the genre. After disbanding in 2011, the band reunited in 2019 and has been active on the festival circuit since.
