Brujeria is a Mexican-American extreme metal band formed in Los Angeles in 1989, known for all-Spanish lyrics dealing with narco-culture, immigration and politics, and for performing anonymously behind masks. Their ranks have included musicians from Faith No More, Fear Factory and Carcass, among others. The debut album Matando Güeros (1993) is a death-grindcore landmark; their fifth studio record, Esto Es Brujeria, came out in September 2023 on Nuclear Blast. In September 2024 the band lost two key members: founder and frontman Juan Brujo died of a heart attack at 61, months after vocalist Pinche Peach also passed away.
Brujeria will perform an Asia-Australia tour in September 2026 with Carcass, which includes stops in Bangkok, Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane.
The band performed the European tour 'Europa Rigor Mortis Part I' as a tribute to Juan Brujo and Pinche Peach; lead vocals were taken over by Henry 'El Sangrón' Sanchez.
Founder and frontman Juan Brujo (John Lepe) died on September 18, 2024, from a heart attack at age 61 during the Mexorcista tour in Ohio.
Vocalist and sampler Ciriaco 'Pinche Peach' Quezada died in July 2024 at age 57 from heart complications.
In September 2023, the fifth studio album Esto Es Brujeria was released by Nuclear Blast Records.
