Eva Urbanová and Moravian Piano Trio
A concert featuring opera singer Eva Urbanová and the Moravian Piano Trio as part of a music festival at Dobříš Castle.
The Moravian Piano Trio was founded in 1997 in Brno and has performed in the same lineup since 1999: Jana Ryšánková (piano), Jiří Jahoda (violin) and Miroslav Zicha (cello), all three of whom also teach at the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts. The ensemble ranks among the most repertoire-rich chamber trios in Europe, with over 25 full-length classical recital programmes and more than 200 original transcriptions of operatic and vocal works. That breadth has made it a sought-after partner for leading opera singers from stages such as the Met, La Scala and Tokyo - regular collaborators include Eva Urbanová, Dagmar Pecková and Štefan Margita.
The trio is preparing gala concerts of film music with illuminations on May 22 and 23, 2026 in the Brno Red Church under the titles Once Upon a Time in the West 2 and James Bond 2.
In March 2026, the trio will perform a congratulatory concert for the life jubilee of violinist and ensemble founder Jiří Jahoda (project Jahoda 50).
The trio opened the 2025-2026 season with a subscription cycle Musikobraní at the Brno KD Rubín and Besední dům.
