
Zbořilovy Milotice - 10th Edition
The tenth edition of a wind band showcase held in the courtyard of a Baroque castle. Four ensembles, including the organizing Mistříňanka, perform in an accessible, welcoming setting.
Mladá muzika Šardice is a youth brass band from Šardice in South Moravia, active without interruption since 1980. The ensemble of around 45 musicians and singers - average age 16 - performs in traditional Slovácko folk costumes and has taken first place at international competitions in Germany. In September 2025 the group completed a thirteen-day Texas tour, giving seventeen concerts across Houston, Grapevine, La Grange, Dallas and other cities.
The ensemble entered 2026 with a documentary film capturing the 2025 Texas tour - a joint journey with Jury Petru's Cimbalom Music through the southern USA.
During a thirteen-day tour of Texas, the ensemble performed seventeen concerts in heat exceeding 35 °C - including at a festival in San Antonio, at Oktoberfest in Fort Worth, and in Dallas.
The ensemble performed in Grapevine, Texas at the open space Peace Plaza and a day later at Czech Center Museum Houston together with Jury Petru's Cimbalom Music.
At the Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center in La Grange, Mlada Muzika Sardice joined ZUŠ Kyjov for a joint evening in the Sanford Schmid amphitheater.
The ensemble held a Christmas concert on December 29, 2024 in Sardice under the direction of Roman Kohoutka, combined with the announcement of the best musicians of the year.
