Miroslav Wanek (born 7 April 1962 in Teplice) is a Czech musician, poet, lyricist and composer, best known as the frontman and sole composer of the avant-garde group Už jsme doma since 1985. The band, once persecuted as illegal by the communist state, has performed in over 46 countries and logged more than 3,000 concerts, making it one of the most widely toured Czech acts in history. Wanek has also taught at FAMU and the Tomas Bata University, and received a Czech Lion nomination for his score to the animated film Fimfárum.

  • 2025-07

    At home, we already celebrated the 40th anniversary with a grand concert at Prague's Lucerna Music Bar (July 29, 2025) with the participation of American bands Sleepytime Gorilla Museum and Faun Fables.

    As part of the 40th anniversary celebrations, the band undertook an Asian tour: one concert in Singapore, two in Taiwan, and 18 performances in Japan from Sapporo to Okinawa.

    Wanek confirmed in an interview for Přítomnost.cz that the band plans a European tour in autumn 2025 as well.

    At home, we already performed at the open-air event Cross Square in front of Prague's Cross Club together with the Japanese band Plastic Dogs.
