Už jsme doma (UJD) is a punk avant-garde band with trumpet, whose music has no parallel in the Czech Republic or abroad. It is wild and urgent, yet compositionally demanding and meticulously crafted — every note, every detail plays a role, and the musicians play from sheet music much like in a symphony orchestra. Characteristic features include the trumpet sound, vocal harmonies, high tempo, and live performances full of energy and humor. The band's visual identity is created by artist and non-performing member Martin Velíšek.
The band was formed in Teplice in 1985. Soon after, Miroslav Wanek and Romek Hanzlík from the punk band F.P.B. joined, bringing with them the working style that characterized F.P.B. Musical influences range from the avant-garde Rock in Opposition scene (The Residents) through punk (Damned, Eba Grön) to Czech bands such as Psí vojáci, Dunaj, Dybbuk, and Krásné nové stroje. Before 1989, they were forced to perform almost illegally; after the fall of communism, they broke into European clubs, the North American continent, and Japan. To date, they have represented Czech culture in more than 40 countries (performing over 700 concerts in the USA) across 4 continents. The band also works on music for animated films (the children's series Krysáci; Fimfárum — Míra Wanek was nominated for a Czech Lion for the music) and theatre (Ex-divadlo Zvolen, Minor, and others).
