Maya Amir (born 1991, Israel) is an Israeli-French coloratura mezzo-soprano specialising in historically informed performance of 17th- and 18th-century Baroque music. She holds degrees from Tel Aviv University, the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig, and the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, where she completed a second master's under Rosa Dominguez. Her recital programmes weave together European Baroque repertoire with Hebrew compositions by her mother, composer Aviva Amir, and with Mediterranean and Eastern musical traditions. She founded the ensemble Avventura Barocca and is a regular collaborator of Israel's Barrocade Ensemble; from 2021 to 2022 she was a member of the Académie Musicale Philippe Jaroussky.
For the 2025/2026 season, Maya Amir has planned a tour of Italian Baroque with countertenor Andreas Scholl and Barrocade Ensemble, an Iberian recital at Varaždin Baroque Evenings, and a tour with Avventura Barocca at Znojmo Music Festival in July 2026.
A new song 'Maim Haim', composed by Aviva Amir with Maya's contribution, will be part of her upcoming album planned for 2026.
In September 2024, she performed the role of Abra in Vivaldi's oratorio Juditha Triumphans in Brno.
In 2024, Maya undertook a tour with the program 'Handel Love Stories' in Israel alongside countertenor Andreas Scholl and Tel Aviv Baroque Orchestra.
In September 2023, she performed at the Varaždin Baroque Evenings festival in Croatia, where her concert with Barrocade Ensemble was highly praised by the press.
