Matyáš Novák (born 1998, Hradec Králové) is a Czech pianist who trained at the Pardubice Conservatoire, the Imola International Piano Academy under Boris Petrushansky, and HAMU Prague under Ivan Klánský, where he is currently completing a doctoral degree. He has won numerous national and international competitions, including first prize at the Bradshaw & Buono International Piano Competition in New York (2017), second prize and the Steinway Prize at the Edvard Grieg International Piano Competition in Bergen (2018), and a finalist diploma at the Paloma O'Shea Santander International Piano Competition (2022). A champion of Czech piano repertoire, he performs his own transcriptions and fantasies alongside the standard canon at venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Rudolfinum.
