Matyáš Novák: Excerpts from Má vlast and More
Kostel sv. Jiří a Martina, Martínkovice · from 290 Kč · ≈ 12 €
The Festival Za poklady Broumovska presents a recital by pianist Matyáš Novák in the Church of St. Martin and St. George in Martínkovice. Supporting young talent is one of the festival's main goals.
Matyáš Novák is currently the first pianist to have on his repertoire a solo piano arrangement of the symphonic poem cycle Má vlast — he performs this programme at domestic festivals and abroad (Carnegie Hall). During the festival, he will perform three parts of this monumental work, allowing listeners to compare it with the orchestral version and the two-piano version that was heard earlier in the festival performed by Miroslav Sekera and Ivo Kahán. The programme is complemented by spiritually-themed compositions suitable for a sacred space.
Programme:
J. S. Bach / F. Busoni: Ich ruf zu dir, Herr Jesu Christ, BWV 639
L. van Beethoven / F. Liszt: Geistliche Lieder von Gellert, S. 467 — II. Bitten, III. Bußlied
F. Liszt: Harmonies Poétiques et Religieuses, S. 173 — X. Cantique d'amour
L. Janáček: Po zarostlém chodníčku, I. řada — IV. Frýdecká Panna Maria
A. Dvořák: Poetické nálady, op. 85 — XIII. Na svaté hoře
B. Smetana / J. Kàan z Albestů: Z českých luhů a hájů, Vyšehrad, Vltava
