Kostel sv. Šimona a Judy, Prague

from 690 Kč · ≈ 28 €

A curated programme combining readings from Antonín Dvořák's correspondence with a live piano recital. František Kinský – a descendant of the Kinský noble family and presenter of the television documentary series Blue Blood – presents a selection of Dvořák's letters exchanged with Josef Suk, Leoš Janáček, and Bedřich Smetana. The piano part is performed by Matyáš Novák, winner of numerous domestic and international competitions, who made his Carnegie Hall debut in New York at nineteen and performed a solo recital at the Prague Spring Festival at twenty.

Programme: A. Dvořák – Poetic Moods op. 85 (selection); M. Novák – Fantasy on the opera Rusalka; J. Suk – Piano Compositions op. 7 (selection); L. Janáček – Sonata 1. X. 1905 "From the Street"; B. Smetana – Vltava (arr. Matyáš Novák).

The concert takes place as part of the Dvořák Festival, organised by the choir Cantores Cantant. The Church of St. Simon and Jude is a Baroque church managed by Prague Symphony FOK, featuring an organ on which Mozart and Haydn once played.
