
Hlučín Fair 2026
A traditional fair in Hlučín featuring crafts, food, and entertainment for the whole family.
Magdaléna Kovářová is a Czech pianist from Hlučín, born around 2012, who stands out as one of the most remarkable young piano talents of her generation. She began winning competitions at the age of eight and has since claimed first prizes at the Riga International Competition for Young Pianists (2022), the Debussy International Music Competition (2024) and the Irvine International Music Competition (2024), earning a laureate recital at Carnegie Hall in New York in 2025. She performs at major Czech festivals including Prague Spring and Smetana's Litomyšl, has appeared as soloist with the Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava, and develops her artistry through the MenART scholarship academy and close work with pianist Lukáš Vondráček.
Magdaléna Kovářová will perform on September 22, 2026 at the Dvořákova Praha festival at Artium by KKCG with a program including works by Scarlatti, Beethoven, Mozart, Prokofiev, and Ravel.
Kovářová will open the traditional Hlučínský krmáš with a gala concert, which takes place September 4-6, 2026.
As part of the Future Tones project, Kovářová traveled to New York, where she combined a concert performance for an American audience with intensive professional development.
Twelve-year-old Kovářová performed at Carnegie Hall in New York, where she played works by Ferenc Liszt and Bohuslav Martinů as a laureate of the Irvine International Music Competition.
Kovářová won first prize at the Debussy International Music Competition with a special award for the interpretation of Debussy's works and first prize at the Irvine International Music Competition.
