Klan Baťa

About

Klan Baťa is an original Czech musical written by Daniela Sodomová and directed by Adéla Laštovková Stodolová, tracing the Baťa shoe dynasty from its 16th-century roots to 2008. Created to mark the 150th anniversary of Tomáš Baťa's birth, it is the first musical ever staged at the Letní scéna Musea Kampa in Prague. Unlike earlier productions in the same series, the story centres on the whole family rather than a single figure, spanning several countries. The score blends 1940s-50s musical theatre styles with rap, beatbox and tap dance.
