Karel Teige (1900–1951) was a Czech avant-garde theorist, art critic, and graphic designer, and one of the central figures of interwar Czech culture. He was the leading ideologist of the Devětsil group and championed constructivism, poetism, and surrealism, while also writing extensively on architecture and typography.
