A cross-border choral project featuring students from Stuttgart and Brno performing reimagined songs by Kraftwerk, Okean Elzy, and Republika, accompanied by members of Kafka Band, Letní kapela, and Tata Bojs.
Kafka Band is a Czech-German literary-musical project, active since 2013, that translates Franz Kafka's prose into alternative rock. Its driving forces are writer Jaroslav Rudiš and artist-vocalist Jaromír 99, both known for the cult comic trilogy Alois Nebel, whose film adaptation won the European Film Prize. Concerts weave Kafka's German with Czech, recitation with song, and are accompanied by animations based on Jaromír 99's illustrations. The band has released three albums drawn from Kafka's unfinished novels - Das Schloss (2014), Amerika (2019) and Der Process (2023) - and collaborated with Theater Bremen on stage productions of the first two.
Kafka Band launched a series of concerts 'Kafka Band plays Kafka', presenting a selection from all three albums.
The band released the album Der Process on Indies Scope, completing a trilogy inspired by Kafka's novel fragments.
The world premiere of the Der Process program took place on November 12, 2022 in Stuttgart.
