Jiří Vaníček is a Czech journalist and host born in 1952 in Brandýs nad Labem. Before 1990 he presented news programmes for Czechoslovak Television, then moved into sports journalism. He is now best known for his touring talkshow evenings - series like "Na kus řeči s..." and "Křeslo pro hosta" - where he interviews Czech actors and public figures at castles and cultural venues around the country.
