PhDr. Jiří Vaníček (born 2 November 1952 in Brandýs nad Labem) is a Czech journalist, TV presenter and cultural organiser. He studied journalism at Charles University and joined Czechoslovak Television in 1977, where he anchored the main news programmes Televizní noviny and Aktuality throughout the 1980s. After 1989 he moved into sports journalism - serving as editor-in-chief of the daily Sport and manager at Česká sportovní - and spent seventeen years hosting events at Prague's Žofín Palace. Today he is best known as the host of the touring talk-show formats "Na kus řeči s..." and "Křeslo pro hosta", which he has taken to theatres, castles and spas across the country since September 2017.
In May 2025, Vaníček moderated an evening with actor Ondřej Vetchý at the Vrchlický Theatre in Louny.
In November 2024, the traditional Křeslo pro hosta programme took place at the Lázeňská kolonáda Congress Centre in Poděbrady with Igor Chmel and moderated by Jiří Vaníček.
At the beginning of 2024, Vaníček moderated the New Year programme Na kus řeči with violin virtuoso Pavel Šporcl in Brandýs nad Labem.
