Jiří Nekvasil (born 1962 in Ostrava) is a Czech opera and theatre director who has led the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre as its director since 2010. He studied opera direction and drama at AMU and co-founded the experimental Opera Furore in 1988. Over his career he has staged more than a hundred productions - ranging from Janáček and Smetana to world premieres of contemporary operas - and has also made music documentaries for Czech Television.
