Unexpected Summer
Czech comedy about an unexpected summer. Screening at CineStar Opava.
Jaroslav Dušek (born 30 April 1961 in Prague) is a Czech actor, improviser, screenwriter and teacher, best known internationally for his roles in Jan Hřebejk's films Cosy Dens, Divided We Fall and Pupendo. In 1981 he co-founded the Vizita Theatre with Jan Borna, which has operated as a fully improvised ensemble since 1986. Alongside his film career he tours with philosophical stage shows Čtyři dohody and Pátá dohoda and hosts the discussion series Duše K. at Divadlo Kampa in Prague.
The documentary film Secrets of Death (2024), in which Dušek serves as a guide, was added to Netflix's offering in February 2025.
For summer 2025, performances of The Four Agreements and The Fifth Agreement are scheduled in Říčany near Prague on the Voděrádky summer stage.
In October 2025, Dušek performed with the production Socrates' Defense at the V-Club in Bratislava.
Health Minister Vlastimil Válek publicly responded to Dušek's statements about cancer as a choice, calling them insensitive to patients.
