Jan Pirk is a Czech cardiac surgeon and emeritus head of the Cardiovascular Surgery Department at IKEM (Institute for Clinical and Experimental Medicine) in Prague. He spent decades leading one of the country's top heart surgery centres and is a well-known public voice on medicine and health.
