KOMÁREK, MILTNEROVÁ: Memento Mori – Light, Movement, Sound...
An intimate movement performance blending light, dance, and live Baroque music in the sacred crypt of Kuks. A meditative work honouring the resting place of Count Špork.
Jan Komárek is a Czech lighting designer, theatre director and musician born in 1953 in Prague. In the 1980s he emigrated - first to France, where he founded the puppet company Mimo Theatre, then to Toronto, where he built the visual-movement theatre Sound Image Theatre and won several Dora Mavor Moore Awards. Back in Prague since 2001, he creates his own movement pieces in which light is a full creative partner rather than a backdrop. He has a long-running collaboration with choreographer Andrea Miltnerová.
