
GEISSLERS HOFCOMOEDIANTEN: Theatre of Light
An opera about the first master of light in Baroque theatre, performed in the courtyard of the historic Kuks Hospital. Music by Jan Jirásek, directed by Petr Hašek.
Helena Koblischková (born Kebrtová) is a Czech theatre dramaturg and author. She studied dramaturgy at the KČD DAMU, Czech and French at the Faculty of Education of Charles University, and scriptwriting at the VOŠ Jaroslava Ježka conservatory. Since 2014 she has been the resident dramaturg of Geisslers Hofcomoedianten, a Prague-based ensemble working in the style of new baroque theatre, for which she writes scripts, translates from French and creates song lyrics - more than fifteen productions to her name. She also sits on the artistic council of Divadlo VILA Štvanice.
The opera Light Theatre with a libretto by Helena Koblischková had its world premiere at the Smetanova Litomyšl festival on June 14 and 15, 2026 in co-production with the Musica Florea orchestra.
Composer Jan Jirásek praised his collaboration with Koblischková on the libretto of the opera Light Theatre in an interview: the opera was created in co-production with Geisslers Hofcomoedianten, Musica Florea, the Smetanova Litomyšl festival and DAMU Praha.
Koblischková participated in the dramaturgy and song texts of the production Project Casanova: How Ramlice Smells (premiere September 27, 2025), an adaptation of Peter Wekwerth's play about the last days of Giacomo Casanova.
As co-author of the concept and dramaturg, Koblischková presented with Geisslers the production Rusty Anna or What's the Bone For! (premiere May 17, 2025), a grotesque noir play about the phenomenon of relic collecting.
Koblischková wrote the dramatization and dramaturgy of the production Simply Simplicius or Holy Simplicity! (premiere April 29, 2023); actor Vojtěch Franců was nominated for the Thalia Prize 2023 for his leading role.
