About
Heinrich von Kleist (1777–1811) was a German Romantic poet, playwright, and prose writer. His works include the plays Penthesilea and The Prince of Homburg, as well as the novella Michael Kohlhaas. In November 1811, he died by suicide alongside his companion Henriette Vogel at the Wannsee lake near Berlin.
