Max Frisch (1911–1991) was a Swiss playwright and novelist, one of the most important German-language writers of the 20th century. He is best known for the plays Biedermann und die Brandstifter (1958) and Andorra (1961), which explore themes of conformism, collective guilt, and moral cowardice. His novels include Stiller and Homo faber.
