Jules Verne (1828–1905) was a French author and one of the pioneers of science fiction and adventure literature. His novels, including Around the World in Eighty Days, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, and Journey to the Moon, anticipated many future technologies. His works are among the most translated in the history of world literature.
