Folklórny súbor Oravan is a folk ensemble based in Nižná in the Orava region of northern Slovakia, preserving songs, music and dances primarily from Orava, Liptov and Detva since 1952. After an interruption, the ensemble was revived on 6 November 1972 and has been active ever since, earning various awards and appearing on television and radio. A sister group, Oravan Senior, was established in 2002 for former members and performs at CIOFF international festivals and abroad.

The Oravan ensemble celebrated its 70th anniversary of founding and 50th anniversary of resuming activities at the House of Culture in Nižná with a four-hour program featuring 150 performers from four generations.

At the preview of the jubilee program titled 'On the Raft of Joy, Along the Stream of Beauty' in Nižná, approximately 350 spectators from various parts of the region gathered.

The jubilee program of the ensemble included dances from Liptov, Detva, and Orava itself and was dedicated to all those who created Oravan over 70 years.
