Maxim Kabir (born 1983, Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine) is a Ukrainian Russian-language writer, poet and historian, one of the leading figures of the so-called Dark Wave of contemporary Russian-language horror fiction. He studied history at the Kryvyi Rih State Pedagogical University and has written several award-winning novels and story collections, including Skeletons, Flies, Beaks and Spoilage. He has lived in Prague since around 2023, where he runs his own lecture series Scary Prague on the darker chapters of Czech history and leads historical tours of the city.

The magazine DARKER included Kabir as a poet in the 19th edition of the Dark Poetry section (January 2025).
The novel Zobáky (Клювы), originally published in Prague, was released in 2023 in a Czech translation.
In 2023, Kabir received the Masters of Horror award in four categories at once: best novel, best novella, best book for children and youth, and best audiobook.
In January 2024, Kabir gave an extensive interview to the TV2 television station.
