Dušan Holý (1933-2025) was a folk singer, ethnomusicologist and emeritus professor at Masaryk University in Brno. He devoted his life to the folk music of the Horňácko region - as a performer with a distinctive tenor voice, a collector of songs, a scholar and a dramaturg of folklore festivals. For his contribution to Czech culture he received the Medal of Merit from President Václav Havel.
