Dr. Kary, born Ondřej Háša on 19 March 1976, is one of the most prominent Czech MCs and a founding figure of raggamuffin in the country. Since 1997 he has shaped the local sound-system scene - co-founding Gardenzitta Sound and Pro Soundsystem, running the legendary Prague club Zion, and collaborating with Fast Food Orchestra, Indy & Wich and Cocoman. In June 2025 he announced a pancreatic cancer diagnosis and embarked on a farewell tour; a CT scan in August 2025 showed the tumour had stabilised.
In 2026, Dr. Kary released the single 'Když Veme Mic Dr. Kary' in collaboration with Vítem Benešovským and continues to perform at festivals, including Oderských dnech.
In August 2025, Dr. Kary shared the results of his first follow-up CT scan with positive news about tumor stabilization.
In June 2025, Dr. Kary announced a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer with metastases to the liver and began a farewell tour that lasted until September 2025.
During the farewell tour, Dr. Kary worked on his first solo album in collaboration with Cocoman, Boldrik and other personalities of the Czech reggae scene.
In February 2024, Dr. Kary released his first mixtape Karyzma with 14 dubplates featuring Nevereš, Fast Food Orchestra, EllyZ and Smack One.
