MessenJah (real name Jiří) is a Prague-based reggae singer and songwriter active since 2009. He broke through with tracks on the Coco Jammin compilations Sklizeň 2011 and 2012, and has since become one of the most prolific performers on the Czech reggae and dancehall circuit. His solo albums Bojuj dál! (2014) and Balanc (2019) blend reggae, dancehall and hip-hop with politically and socially engaged Czech lyrics. Together with Cocoman and Dr. Kary he forms the trio Nevereš, whose albums include Zpátky na strop (2016) and Trumpety (2021).
MessenJah performed in July 2025 in Kadaň at an event in Restaurant Střelnice Kadaň.
In April 2025 MessenJah performed in Ostrava at Triple Hall Karolina.
Trio Nevereš (Cocoman, MessenJah, Dr. Kary) performed a big show at the Prague club Roxy with a brass section, backing vocalists and their own stage design.
Nevereš released their second joint album Trumpety, which they followed up with the music video Karavana/Trumpety.
MessenJah released his second solo album Balanc (14 tracks), which premiered at Futura in Prague.
