Dorota Barová (born 1975, Třinec) is a Czech cellist, singer and composer working at the intersection of jazz, folk and intimate singer-songwriter music. She first gained wide recognition as co-founder of the cello duo Tara Fuki, and since 2018 has pursued a solo career that earned her the Anděl award for jazz album of the year. Her third solo album Píseň pro Mi (2025), setting Czech poems by Michaela Vejnarová to music, received two Anděl 2025 nominations in the Folk and Jazz categories.
The album Píseň pro Mi received two nominations for the Ceny Anděl Coca-Cola 2025 awards in the Folk and Jazz categories; the announcement took place on April 11, 2026 in Prague.
In December 2025, the album Píseň pro Mi was presented at the Prague Jazz Dock.
Radio critic Milan Bátor called Píseň pro Mi a tribute and remembrance of artist Mi Vejnarová, who died at the age of forty-three.
Barová launched the autumn tour for the album Píseň pro Mi with the permanent lineup Barová-Chyška-Klápště.
The third solo album Píseň pro Mi (Animal Music, 2025) was released - sung in Czech for the first time, with lyrics by poet Michaela Vejnarová.
