About

Divadlo Apropo is a Prague theatre company founded in 2000 by Filip Jan Zvolský and Marek Popp under the name Ateliér PROzy a POesie. It stages spoken drama, puppet theatre, cabaret and site-specific productions, and since 2012 has had a permanent home on Jánský vršek below Prague Castle. The ensemble draws largely on graduates of HAMU, JAMU and other Czech drama schools. Its best-known productions include the annual Living Nativity at the Loreta and the alchemical show Oživlá laboratoř.

In October 2025, a new production of Baby directed by Filip Jan Zvolský premiered, a site-specific project for an alchemist's cellar with music by Gabriela Vermelho.

In July 2025, a puppet family comedy Faust premiered, performed in the open air in the courtyard of the Museum of Alchemists on Malá Strana.

In April 2024, a renewed premiere of an older production from the theater's repertoire took place.

In autumn 2025, the theater continued regular performances of the site-specific project Nefaust in the spaces of the Museum of Alchemists.
