Danielle de Picciotto (born 1965, Tacoma, Washington) is an American multimedia artist, musician and filmmaker based in Berlin. In 1989 she co-founded the Berlin Love Parade and in 1992 initiated the city's Clubart Movement, making her a central figure in Berlin's underground scene. Together with her husband Alexander Hacke (Einstürzende Neubauten) she forms the duo hackedepicciotto, signed to Mute Records; alongside music she works as a painter, author and filmmaker.
The duo Hackedepicciotto released the album LICHTUNG on July 10, 2026 on the Mute label - their first studio album since The Silver Threshold (2021) and also the first one with lyrics entirely in German.
LICHTUNG is also Alexander Hack's first album after his departure from Einstürzende Neubauten.
Hackedepicciotto launched a tour for the album LICHTUNG; on June 27, 2026 they held a release party at Berlin's silent green Kulturquartier.
In March 2026, the duo released a music video for the single 'Wiederbelebung' as the first preview of the upcoming album.
In 2025, Danielle de Picciotto released the DIY catalog Sonic Magicians dedicated to three decades of her collaboration with musicians, complemented by portraits on a scratch-off sheet and collages.
