Třeboň Night Serenade 2026
The legendary international music festival Třeboň Night Serenade returns for its 23rd edition with a programme running from 7 to 11 July. Music in the historic setting of Třeboň's landmarks.
Alexandra Kahrer is an Austrian cellist born in 1998 in Lower Austria, who trained at music academies in Vienna, Munich and Weimar before joining Kronberg Academy in October 2025. She plays a 1671 Giovanni Battista Rogeri cello on loan from Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben. Her competition record includes the 3rd Prize, Audience Prize and Czech Music Fund Prize at Prague Spring 2025, and 1st Prize at the 2024 Grunewald International Music Competition in Berlin. Collegium 1066 m.n.m. is a Czech chamber ensemble of six musicians that regularly performs at classical music festivals in South Bohemia.
Since October 2025, Alexandra Kahrer has been studying at Kronberg Academy with Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt, with her studies funded by the Christa Verhein Foundation.
In September 2025, Alexandra Kahrer participated in the Budapest International Cello Competition at Liszt Academy, where 15 selected cellists under 30 years old competed.
At the Prague Spring International Music Competition 2025, Alexandra Kahrer won 3rd Prize, the Audience Prize, and the Czech Music Foundation Prize for the best interpretation of a contemporary work written for the competition.
In the Prague Spring 2025 final, Alexandra Kahrer performed Dvorak's Cello Concerto in B minor with the Prague Symphony Orchestra conducted by Marek Prasil.
Alexandra Kahrer with Collegium 1066 m.n.m. will open the 23rd International Music Festival Třeboňská nocturna on July 7, 2026 at Třeboň State Castle.
