Alexander Hacke (born 11 October 1965 in Berlin) is a German musician, producer and film composer who joined the influential industrial group Einstürzende Neubauten at the age of fifteen, going on to shape their sound for over four decades before leaving in April 2025. With his wife Danielle de Picciotto he forms the duo hackedepicciotto, working across drone, electronics and ambient; he has also scored films for director Fatih Akin and published the autobiography Krach.
The duo hackedepicciotto released the album LICHTUNG on the Mute label on July 10, 2026 - Hacke's first studio album after leaving Einstürzende Neubauten, with lyrics exclusively in German.
On April 25, 2025, Hacke announced his departure from Einstürzende Neubauten after more than forty years, citing personal and professional disagreements as the reason.
On October 31, 2025, an expanded and revised version of Hacke's autobiography Krach - Verzerrte Erinnerungen (Ventil Verlag publishing house) was released, supplemented with the last ten years; at the same time, he released an audiobook of his own reading.
In November 2024, the duo hackedepicciotto released the live album The Best of hackedepicciotto (Live in Napoli), featuring a selection from their entire career recorded at the Naples studio Auditorium Novecento.
In March 2026, the band Einstürzende Neubauten announced Josephine Lukschy as the new bass guitarist who replaced Hacke.
