Kuřim
Kuřim Castle is a Renaissance cultural monument on the western edge of town, comprising the so-called Old Castle (built 1592–1594) and the Neo-Renaissance New Castle (1888–1889). The original medieval fortress was rebuilt to serve as the administrative seat of Brno's city estates. Since 1951 the building has housed a secondary vocational school (SOŠ a SOU Kuřim). The castle courtyard is open to the public for cultural events, theatrical and musical performances, and open-air cinema screenings.
