Kutná Hora

About the venue

Kačina Castle near Kutná Hora is one of the most important Empire-style buildings in Bohemia. It was built between 1806 and 1824 for Jan Rudolf Chotek to a design by Dresden architect Ch. F. Schuricht. Today it houses the National Agricultural Museum, with exhibitions on the history of the Bohemian countryside, farming, and the Chotek family. The complex includes a historic library, an orangery, a castle theatre, and an extensive English landscape park laid out in 1789. Since 2001 the castle has been a national cultural monument.
