About the venue
A late Baroque castle in Jičín District on the edge of the Bohemian Paradise, given its present form in 1762–1765 by builder Zachariáš Fiegert for Count Jan Kristián Clam-Gallas. The interiors preserve Gothic and Baroque frescoes, Rococo stucco work, and a collection of Knights of Malta weapons. The complex includes a castle brewery, a medieval tavern, and a jousting ground with knight tournaments. The castle was reopened to the public in 2000 following extensive restoration.
