Enchanted Castle Tour at Dětenice Castle

An enchanted tour of Dětenice Castle takes place every Saturday from January to October 2026. In January and February, tours run from 11:00 to 17:00 every odd hour; from March onwards, from 10:00 to 17:00 every hour. Your guide is the local witch Žizelda, who tells colourful stories by candlelight about life at Dětenice. Visitors will walk through 14 fully furnished rooms and see frescoes and wall paintings, as well as Baroque and Rococo stucco work. The entrance hall houses a rare collection of weapons belonging to the Knights of Malta, comprising approximately 350 pieces, mostly from the Thirty Years' War. The tour lasts approximately 50 minutes and is suitable for the whole family – well-behaved children have nothing to fear. After the tour, you can stroll through the castle park (park entry is free with a tour ticket, otherwise 70 CZK per person). The castle is located in Český Ráj, about 65 km from Prague between Mladá Boleslav and Jičín. Guided tours are also available in English, German, and Russian.
