About the venue

The Great Courtyard sits at the centre of Špilberk Castle, which has watched over Brno since the 13th century - first as a royal residence, later as a Habsburg fortress and feared prison. Today the open-air space regularly hosts summer concerts and theatre performances against the backdrop of the castle's historic walls.
